Working through issues, sometimes we become discouraged and just need a little or major boost of encouragement. Sometimes, if possible, we need to return to that child like state before the abuse and remember all the limitless possibilities we dreamed about. I believe they are still there. It's just more challenging to reach them because of the obstacles. Obstacles don't have to totally hinder or stop us, but make us stronger.
Today my mind was taken back to days before the abuse. I was running around outside with my superhero cape with a surmountable thunderstorm roaring in the background with flashes of lightning. Green grass everywhere. I remember within those dark billowing clouds, a radiant rainbow like I had never seen before. So radiant that I can still see it in my mind today. That rainbow has been part of my guiding inspiration all these years working through many of the abuse issues. Feeling, visualizing and remembering the joy, freedom, weightlessness of that day before the storm. Someone once asked me if there was a positive side to my sexual abuse. My reply was, " Facing the obstacles have forged a spirit of excellence and a disdain for mediocrity within me. Yes, I fall down, but I am always inspired by that rainbow to rise again."
P.S: Yes, I'm Bruce Lee enthusiast...ha..ha
